Inpro/Seal Bearing Isolators can be installed on pumps, motors, pillow blocks, gearboxes and a variety of other rotating equipment. Once the equipment is assembled, verify the shaft turns freely and the Bearing Isolator rotor turns true with the stator. This prevents rotor/stator separation and ensures the Bearing Isolator remains properly seated into the cover. Slide the cover with the installed Bearing Isolator over the shaft and into position by pushing on the outboard face of the Bearing Isolator, not the cover. Lightly lubricate the shaft with the supplied lubricant. Do not press in the Bearing Isolator past the shoulder, if present. Upon pressing the Bearing Isolator into the cover, visually ensure it is fully and squarely seated, assuring a secure interference fit. Do not hammer the Bearing Isolator directly into the cover. A puck or square blank should be used to press the Bearing Isolator evenly into the cover. Check for proper orientation by verifying the expulsion port is at the 6 o'clock, or down, position. Using a hand arbor press, install the Bearing Isolator assembly. Lubricate the gasket o-ring on the OD of the Bearing Isolator. The standard minimum cross section is ½ inch overall, but can differ based on design. In some cases, the cover will need to be modified. ![]() Then, verify the correct bore size to ensure a 0.002 interference fit. Remove the equipment cover, making sure to note the 6 o'clock or downward position of the housing face.
